Abstract
A tire comprises a tread portion axially divided into four land regions. The tire has a mounting direction to a vehicle and the land regions 4 include a widest outboard middle land region. The outboard middle land region is provided with first, second and third inclined grooves. The first inclined groove extends from a crown main groove and terminates within the outboard middle land region. The second inclined groove has its both ends terminated within the outboard middle land region. The third inclined groove intersects the first and second inclined grooves.

A tire comprising:
- a tread portion having an outboard tread edge and an inboard tread edge to be located outboard and inboard of the vehicle, respectively, wherein
- the tread portion is provided, between the inboard tread edge and the outboard tread edge, with three main grooves extending continuously and circumferentially of the tire so that the tread portion is axially divided into four land regions,
- the three main grooves include
- an outboard shoulder main groove disposed between the outboard tread edge and the tire equator, and
- a crown main groove disposed adjacently to the outboard shoulder main groove on the inboard tread edge side of the outboard shoulder main groove,
- the four land regions include an outboard middle land region defined between the outboard shoulder main groove and the crown main groove,
- the axial width of the outboard middle land region is the largest among the four land regions,
- the outboard middle land region is provided with first inclined grooves, second inclined grooves, third inclined grooves, and fourth inclined grooves,
- the first inclined grooves and the second inclined grooves are arranged alternately in the circumferential direction,
- each of the first inclined grooves has an inboard end that opens into the crown main groove, and an outboard end that is closed within the outboard middle land region, and extends from its inboard end to outboard end while curving toward one side in the tire circumferential direction,
- each of the second inclined grooves has an inboard end on the crown main groove side that is closed within the outboard middle land region, and an outboard end on the outboard shoulder main groove side that is closed in the outboard middle land region, and extends from its inboard end to outboard end while curving toward said one side in the tire circumferential direction,
- the third inclined grooves and the fourth inclined grooves are arranged alternately in the circumferential direction,
- each of the third inclined grooves has an outboard end that opens into the outboard shoulder main groove, and an inboard end that is adjacent to the crown main groove, and extends from its outboard end to inboard end while curving toward said one side in the tire circumferential direction,
- each of the fourth inclined grooves has an outboard end that opens into the outboard shoulder main groove, and an inboard end on the crown main groove side, and extends from its outboard end to inboard end while curving toward said one side in the tire circumferential direction,
- each of the second inclined grooves crosses one of the third inclined grooves and one of the fourth inclined grooves that is adjacent to said one of the third inclined grooves on said one side in the tire circumferential direction, and
- each of the first inclined grooves crosses one of the fourth inclined grooves and one of the third inclined grooves that is adjacent to said one of the fourth inclined grooves on said one side in the tire circumferential direction.
