A non-transitory computer readable medium storing one or more programs, including instructions, which when executed by a computer, causes the computer to perform a method of providing pressure support therapy to a patient, the method comprising:
- generating a flow of breathing gas to the patient;
- receiving one or more inputs;
- estimating a core body temperature of the patient for selected times of day based on the one or more inputs;
- wherein the one or more inputs comprise inputs selected from the group consisting of (i) one or more sensors configured to detect a patient characteristic for use in estimating a circadian rhythm and correlated with the core body temperature of the patient for the selected times of day, (ii) profile information of the patient for use in estimating the core body temperature of the patient for the selected times of day, and (iii) any other input of a characteristic of the patient correlated with the circadian rhythm and correlated with the core body temperature of the patient for the selected times of day;
- and
- adjusting a temperature of the breathing gas provided to the patient at the selected times of day based on the estimated core body temperatures of the patient.
