Managing services associated with URL-based two-dimensional codes

A non-transitory, computer-readable medium storing one or more instructions executable by a computer system to perform operations for coordinating service processing using multiple service institutions, the operations comprising:

• generating, by an acquiring-side service institution, a uniform resource locator (URL) that is encoded in a two-dimensional (2D) code;
• associating, by the acquiring-side service institution, the URL that is encoded in the 2D code with service information for initiating a service of a service provider;
• providing, by the acquiring-side service institution, the 2D code to the service provider whose service information the acquiring-side service institution has associated with the URL that is encoded in the 2D code;
• when the 2D code is presented by the service provider and is scanned by a mobile device to initiate the service of the service provider, receiving, by the acquiring-side service institution, at least a portion of the URL from a user-side service institution that initially received the URL;
• determining, by the acquiring-side service institution, the service information for initiating the service of the service provider;
• and
• transmitting, by the acquiring-side service institution, the service information for initiating the service of the service provider, to the user-side service institution that initially received the URL.

A system comprising:

• one or more computers;
• and
• one or more computer memory devices interoperably coupled with the one or more computers and having tangible, non-transitory, machine-readable media storing one or more instructions that, when executed by the one or more computers, perform one or more operations for coordinating service processing using multiple service institutions, the operations comprising:
• generating, by an acquiring-side service institution, a uniform resource locator (URL) that is encoded in a two-dimensional (2D) code;
• associating, by the acquiring-side service institution, the URL that is encoded in the 2D code with service information for initiating a service of a service provider;
• providing, by the acquiring-side service institution, the 2D code to the service provider whose service information the acquiring-side service institution has associated with the URL that is encoded in the 2D code;
• when the 2D code is presented by the service provider and is scanned by a mobile device to initiate the service of the service provider, receiving, by the acquiring-side service institution, at least a portion of the URL from a user-side service institution that initially received the URL;
• determining, by the acquiring-side service institution, the service information for initiating the service of the service provider;
• and
• transmitting, by the acquiring-side service institution, the service information for initiating the service of the service provider, to the user-side service institution that initially received the URL.
