Control-article-based control of a user interface

A computing device comprising:

• a radar module configured to detect a presence of a control article in a first proximity zone and a second proximity zone proximate the computing device, the second proximity zone:
• defining a separate physical area than the first proximity zone;
• being adjacent to the first proximity zone;
• and
• separating the first proximity zone and the computing device;
• at least one processor;
• and
• at least one memory device storing computer-readable instructions that, when executed by the at least one processor causes the at least one processor to perform operations comprising:
• responsive to receiving a first indication that the control article is in the first proximity zone, causing the computing device to enter a presentation mode, the presentation mode configured to cause a user interface associated with the computing device to display one or more presentation user interface elements;
• responsive to receiving a second indication that the control article is in the second proximity zone, causing the computing device to enter an interactive mode, the interactive mode configured to cause the user interface associated with the computing device to display one or more interactive user interface elements and remove at least one of the presentation user interface elements;
• and
• removing at least one of the non-interactive user interface elements or at least one of the interactive user interface elements, the removing responsive to:
• a removal of the control article from the first proximity zone or the second proximity zone;
• or
• determining, based on at least one of a motion profile of the control article or a duration of time that the control article is detected in the first proximity zone or the second proximity zone, that a movement pattern indicates an unintentional interaction.
