Flow detection device, cooling arrangement for an electronic device, and rack hosting a plurality of electronic devices

A flow detection device, comprising:

• a fluidic input port;
• a fluidic output port;
• a channel connected to the fluidic input port and to the fluidic output port;
• a float located within the channel, a specific weight of the float being greater than a specific weight of a fluid injected in the flow detection device via the fluidic input port, wherein respective locations of the fluidic input port, of the channel and of the fluidic output port on the flow detection device cause the float to rise within the channel when a sufficient flow of the fluid is injected in the flow detection device;
• a conduit connecting the channel to the fluidic output port, the conduit extending from under a position of the float when the float is raised within the channel, the fluidic output port being at least as high as the position of the float when the float is raised within the channel;
• a gas extraction passage connecting the channel to the fluidic output port, an entry of the gas extraction passage being located at or above a highest possible position of the float when the float rises within the channel, an exit of the gas extraction passage proximate to the fluidic output port being at least as high as the entry of the gas extraction passage;
• and
• a sensor adapted to detect the position of the float within the channel.
