Abstract
An aqueous coating composition that includes a binder, pigment, and a formaldehyde scrubbing urea compound. When applied to a substrate, the coating composition absorbs formaldehyde and other air pollutants from passing air.

An aqueous coating composition comprising:
- an aqueous carrier liquid;
- a polymeric binder;
- one or more additives;
- and
- a formaldehyde scrubbing urea compound present in an amount of at most 1.5 weight percent based on the weight of the aqueous coating composition.
