Abstract
A holding assembly for holding portable electronic devices increases passenger convenience and comfort. The holding assembly comprises a plurality of independently movable planar members that engage one or more portable electronic devices to hold the portable electronic devices. The planar members may each be moved between a first position and a second position. A portion of the holding assembly may be received within an open portion of a planar member to provide a low-profile geometry. The holding assembly may be opened to hold a portable electronic device and closed when not in use in this manner.
Claims5
A holding assembly for holding a portable electronic device in a vehicle comprising:
- a base having a first portion and a second portion;
- a first planar member rotatable between a first position and second position;
- one or more open portions in the first planar member;
- a second planar member rotatably attached to the first planer member and rotatable between a first position and a second position;
- a pair of rotating mounts attached to the second planer member;
- wherein the first planar member and the second planar member are independently rotatable;
- wherein each of the pair of rotating members extends through a corresponding open portion of the one or more open portions when the first planar member is in the first position.
