Abstract
A method for enhancing an expression of insulin like growth factor 1 receptor in a mesenchymal stem cell is provided. The method includes culturing the mesenchymal stem cell expressing insulin-like growth factor 1 receptor in a medium containing platelet-derived growth factor BB (PDGF-BB) to enhance the expression of insulin like growth factor 1 receptor in the mesenchymal stem cell.

A method for treating a brain tissue damage, the method comprising administering a composition containing a plurality of umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cells to a subject in need for a treatment of the brain tissue damage, wherein the umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cell is isolated from Wharton's jelly, and is insulin-like growth factor 1 receptor positive selected by using an insulin-like growth factor 1 receptor antibody and then cultured in a medium containing platelet-derived growth factor BB (PDGF-BB) at 2.5-50 ng/mL to enhance the expression of insulin-like growth factor 1 receptor in the mesenchymal stem cell;
- wherein the brain tissue damage results from a cerebral ischemic disease.
