Abstract
Various embodiments provide systems and methods for identifying impairment using measurement devices.
Claims20
A system for determining individual impairment, the system comprising:
- a first individual characteristic sensor;
- a first impairment detection module configured to:
- receive a first baseline impairment threshold;
- receive a first sensed information about a monitored individual from the first individual characteristic sensor;
- determine a first impairment value for the monitored individual based at least in part on the first sensed information;
- compare the first impairment value to the first baseline impairment threshold;
- and
- provide a first impairment output based upon the comparison of the first impairment value to the first baseline impairment threshold;
- a second impairment detection module configured to:
- receive a second baseline impairment threshold;
- receive a second sensed information about the monitored individual from a second individual characteristic sensor;
- determine a second impairment value for the monitored individual based at least in part on the second sensed information;
- compare the second impairment value to the second baseline impairment threshold;
- and
- provide a second impairment output based upon the comparison of the second impairment value to the second baseline impairment threshold;
- and
- an impairment threshold learning module configured to modify the first baseline impairment threshold based at least in part on the second impairment output.

A method for determining impairment of a monitored individual, the method comprising
- associating a monitoring device with a monitored individual, wherein the monitoring device includes a first individual characteristic sensor and a second individual characteristic sensor;
- receiving a first sensed information about the monitored individual from the first individual characteristic sensor;
- determining a first impairment value for the monitored individual based at least in part on the first sensed information;
- comparing the first impairment value to a first baseline impairment threshold;
- and
- providing a first impairment output based upon the comparison of the first impairment value to the first baseline impairment threshold;
- receiving a second sensed information about the monitored individual from a second individual characteristic sensor;
- determining the second impairment value for the monitored individual based at least in part on the second sensed information;
- comparing the second impairment value to the second baseline impairment threshold;
- and
- providing the second impairment output based upon the comparison of the second impairment value to the second baseline impairment threshold;
- and
- modifying the first baseline impairment threshold based at least in part on a second impairment output.

A system for impairment monitoring, the system comprising:
- a user detached monitor device including a first individual characteristic sensor, a second individual characteristic sensor, a memory, and a processor, wherein the memory includes instructions executable by the processor to:
- receive a first baseline impairment threshold;
- receive a first sensed information about a monitored individual from the first individual characteristic sensor;
- determine a first impairment value for the monitored individual based at least in part on the first sensed information;
- compare the first impairment value to the first baseline impairment threshold;
- and
- generate a first impairment output based upon the comparison of the first impairment value to the first baseline impairment threshold;
- receive a second baseline impairment threshold;
- receive a second sensed information about a monitored individual from the first individual characteristic sensor;
- determine a second impairment value for the monitored individual based at least in part on the second sensed information;
- compare the second impairment value to the second baseline impairment threshold;
- and
- generate a second impairment output based upon the comparison of the second impairment value to the second baseline impairment threshold;
- and
- modify the first baseline impairment threshold based at least in part on the second impairment output.
