Abstract
A hitch assembly includes a vehicle connection interface and a rotary cutter connection interface. A mounting plate extends between the vehicle connection interface and the rotary cutter connection interface. A pivot plate is pivotally coupled to the mounting plate. A suspension element coupled between the pivot and mounting plates mitigates force transfer between the connection interfaces resulting from the relative movement of the connection interfaces.
Claims20
A hitch assembly for coupling a rotary cutter to a tractor, the hitch assembly comprising:
- a vehicle connection interface configured to attach the hitch assembly to the tractor;
- a rotary cutter connection interface configured to attach the hitch assembly to the rotary cutter;
- a mounting plate engaged with and extending from the rotary cutter connection interface toward the vehicle connection interface;
- a pivot plate comprising a fore end proximate the vehicle connection interface and an aft end opposite the fore end, wherein the pivot plate is engaged with and extends from the vehicle connection interface toward the rotary cutter connection, and is pivotally coupled to the mounting plate between the fore end and aft end;
- and
- a suspension element engaged with the pivot plate at its aft end, and operably coupled with the mounting plate to mitigate force transfer between the vehicle connection interface and the rotary cutter connection interface.
A hitch assembly for coupling a rotary cutter to a tractor, the hitch assembly comprising:
- a vehicle connection interface configured to attach the hitch assembly to the tractor, the vehicle connection interface disposed at a forward position;
- a rotary cutter connection interface configured to attach the hitch assembly to the rotary cutter, the rotary cutter connection interface disposed at a rear position;
- at least one mounting plate engaged with and extending from the rotary cutter connection interface toward the forward position;
- at least one pivot plate comprising a fore end proximate the vehicle connection interface and an aft end opposite the fore end, wherein the pivot plate is engaged with and extends from the vehicle connection interface toward the rear position, and is pivotally coupled to the at least one mounting plate between the fore end and aft end;
- and
- at least one suspension element engaged with the pivot plate at its aft end, and operably coupled with the at least one mounting plate to mitigate force transfer between the vehicle connection interface and the rotary cutter connection interface.
A hitch assembly for coupling a rotary cutter to a tractor, the hitch assembly comprising:
- a vehicle connection interface configured to attach the hitch assembly to the tractor, the vehicle connection interface disposed at a forward position;
- a rotary cutter connection interface configured to attach the hitch assembly to the rotary cutter, the rotary cutter connection interface disposed at a rear position;
- a first mounting plate and a second mounting plate, the first and second mounting plates respectively engaged with and extending from the rotary cutter connection interface toward the forward position;
- a first pivot plate and a second pivot plate, the first and second pivot plates respectively comprising a fore end proximate the vehicle connection interface and an aft end opposite the fore end, wherein the respective first and second pivot plates are engaged with and extend from the vehicle connection interface toward the rear position, and are pivotally coupled to the first and second mounting plates respectively;
- and
- a first spring and a second spring, the first and second springs are engaged with the first pivot plate and second pivot plate respectively, and are operably coupled with first and second mounting plates respectively to mitigate force transfer between the vehicle connection interface and the rotary cutter connection interface.
