Abstract
An absorbent article and method of making the absorbent article are disclosed. The absorbent article having a topsheet, a backsheet, and an absorbent core structure having one or more layers wherein at least one layer is a heterogeneous mass layer, wherein the topsheet and the heterogeneous mass are integrated such that they reside in the same X-Y plane.
Claims9
A sanitary napkin comprising a liquid pervious topsheet, a liquid impervious backsheet, and an absorbent core structure disposed between the topsheet and the backsheet and comprising a heterogeneous mass layer comprising a layer comprising open cell polyurethane or HIPE foam and a fibrous nonwoven layer, wherein fibers of the nonwoven layer have been driven into the layer comprising open cell foam so as to be vertically integrated with the layer comprising open cell foam, wherein the sanitary napkin exhibits capillarity work potential gradient between 3,500 mJ/m2 to 80,000 mJ/m2.
