Abstract
The flameless heater system includes an energy source comprising a diesel engine configured to create volumes of air, a hydraulic system to control engine loading for heat generation and for air moving, and a control system, operatively coupled with the energy source and the hydraulic system to control at least one of a speed of the diesel engine, a loading of the diesel engine, or a fan speed.
Claims12
A flameless heater system, comprising:
- an energy source comprising a diesel engine configured to create volumes of air;
- a hydraulic system to control engine loading for heat generation and for air moving;
- a magnetic braking system comprising a pivoting magnet arm with an adjustable position that is adjustable relative to a rotating structure to change engine loading by changing a magnetic force exerted on the rotating structure by the pivoting magnet arm;
- and
- a control system, operatively coupled with the energy source and the hydraulic system to control a speed of the diesel engine by regulating a fuel burn rate, a loading of the diesel engine, and a fan speed to achieve an airflow over a range of static pressures, wherein the control system further comprises:
- one or more air sensors operatively coupled to the control system, the one or more air sensors being configured to measure a velocity associated with the flameless heater system, wherein the one or more air sensors detect a quality of air by measuring an amount of particulate matter in a particular volume of space.
