Abstract
Near-infrared pulses are emitted from a pulsed light source. A scanner directs the near-infrared pulses as scanned light. An optical element directs the scanned light into the eye. The scanned light is scanned in two dimensions to form an image on the eye. Photon-pairs of the near-infrared pulses deliver a photon energy that is perceived as visible light.
Claims20
A two-photon display comprising:
- a pulsed light source configured to emit near-infrared pulses;
- an optical element configured to direct scanned light into an eye;
- and
- a scanner configured to direct the near-infrared pulses as scanned light, wherein the scanned light is scanned in two dimensions to form an image on the eye, and wherein photon-pairs of the near-infrared pulses deliver a photon energy to the eye that is perceived as visible light.
1 more element
A method of forming a display image with two-photon light, the method comprising:
- capturing an image of an eye with an eye-tracking camera;
- determining an accommodation plane of the eye based at least in part on the image;
- adjusting an accommodation element to an accommodation profile in response to the determined accommodation plane, wherein the accommodation element is disposed between a scanner and an output of an optical fiber;
- emitting near-infrared pulses into the optical fiber for encountering the accommodation element, wherein the near-infrared pulses are emitted from a pulsed light source, and wherein photon-pairs of the near-infrared pulses deliver a photon energy to the eye that is perceived as visible light;
- and
- modulating the scanner to direct the near-infrared pulses as scanned light into the eye.
