Abstract
A method of constructing a building comprising the steps of attaching a first panel to a second panel. The first panel is one of a single plenum panel and a multi-plenum panel and the second panel is one of a single plenum panel and a multi-plenum panel.
Claims20
A method of constructing a building comprising:
- attaching a first panel to a second panel via a roof connector via both mechanical and adhesive fixation;
- attaching a third panel to the first panel;
- attaching a fourth panel to one of the first and second panels;
- wherein the first panel forms part of a vertical wall, the second panel forms part of a roof, and the third panel forms part of a first horizontal floor, and the fourth panel forms part of a first horizontal ceiling;
- each panel has one or more plenums extending there through;
- the building is built without conventional framing lumber used in studs, joists, rafters, or trusses;
- the roof connector is an elongate continuous structural member having a length at least substantially as long as one of an edge of the first panel and a roof/ceiling edge;
- the roof connector has a triangular cross section;
- the roof connector is one of extruded, formed, and folded;
- the roof connector is constructed from one of aluminum, a non-aluminum metal, plastic, wood fiber, carbon fiber, fiberglass, magnesium oxide, sheet metal, and composites of and a combination of any thereof;
- and
- each of the first panel, the second panel, the third panel, and the fourth panel include a respective first sheet and second sheet, the first sheet being parallel to the second sheet, a first plurality of spacing structural elements, fixedly attaching the first sheet to the second sheet, a first plenum defined by a first spacing between the first sheet and the second sheet, the first plurality of spacing structural elements being formed such that a first plurality of spaced apart unobstructed pathways are created in the first plenum for air to move in a first direction from at least one edge of each of the first panel, the second panel, the third panel, and the fourth panel to at least one of an opposite and an adjacent edge of each of the first panel, the second panel, the third panel, and the fourth panel.
