Abstract
A formaldehyde free adhesive composition and a plywood obtained from the adhesive composition is provided, and the plywood has a balanced performance, such as high adhesion strength, sufficient pot-life, and good workability.
Claims12
A formaldehyde free adhesive composition comprising:
- (a) an aqueous emulsion of acrylic polymer;
- and
- (b) one or more aliphatic isocyanate crosslinkers;
- wherein said acrylic polymer has at least one structural unit of one or more ethylenically unsaturated monomers carrying at least one hetero functional group, and said acrylic polymer has a glass transition temperature of −45° C. to 0° C.;
- and
- wherein the adhesive composition has a pot-life of >4 hours.
