Abstract
A connector system for use during hydraulic fracturing operations includes a first connector having a bore and an annular interface defined by a plurality of surfaces disposed at selected angles with respect to each other. A second connector has an annular interface defined by a plurality of surfaces disposed at selected angles to each other. The plurality of surfaces of the annular interface of the first connector are adapted to engage the plurality of surfaces of the annular interface of the second connector to form a seal.
Claims8
A connector system comprising:
- a first connector having a bore and a set of teeth on an outer surface;
- a second connector having a second bore and a set of teeth on an outer surface;
- at least one dog having an inner surface with a first set of teeth adapted to engage the set of teeth of the first connector, a second set of teeth adapted to engage the set of teeth of the second connector, and a spring for biasing the dog outward from the outer surfaces of the first and second connectors to disengage the first and second sets of teeth of the dog from the sets of teeth of the first and second connectors;
- a first ring adapted to rotate across a first outer surface of the dog to apply pressure against the bias of the spring;
- and
- a second ring adapted to rotate across a second outer surface of the dog to apply pressure against the bias of the spring, the first and second rings thereby forcing the first and second sets of teeth of the dog into engagement with the sets of teeth of the first and second connectors.
