Abstract
This disclosure describes methods and systems for viewing a collection of media objects, such as a video clip and associated responses (video, audio and text), in a seamless way. Provided with a media object and a series of responses and counter responses, a real time media combining methodology is coupled with a text and audio conversion process to generate a media stream, or downloadable media object, that contains the original media object and some or all of the associated responses. The media content is formatted into the stream so that ancillary content, like text associated with a particular video response, may also be displayed. Advertisements may be inserted into the stream between responses or overlaying some portion of the viewing area during rendering of the stream.
Claims20
A method comprising:
- publishing, by a computing device, a digital video clip on an interactive network platform accessible by a plurality of users;
- receiving, by the computing device, a set of response files from a subset of the plurality of users, each response file comprising user generated content (UGC);
- storing, by the computing device in an associated database, the received response file set in association with said digital video clip;
- receiving, at the computing device, a request from a first user for a consolidated media stream, the request comprising a filter criteria indicating a context;
- generating, via the computing device, a consolidated media stream comprising the video clip and a portion of responses in the stored response file set, the portion of responses comprising content corresponding to the context of the filter criteria;
- and
- publishing, via the computing device on the interactive network platform, said consolidated media stream, such that each of the plurality of users is capable of streaming said consolidated media stream.
A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium tangibly encoded with computer-executable instructions, that when executed by a computing device, perform a method comprising:
- publishing, by the computing device, a digital video clip on an interactive network platform accessible by a plurality of users;
- receiving, by the computing device, a set of response files from a subset of the plurality of users, each response file comprising user generated content (UGC);
- storing, by the computing device in an associated database, the received response file set in association with said digital video clip;
- receiving, at the computing device, a request from a first user for a consolidated media stream, the request comprising a filter criteria indicating a context;
- generating, via the computing device, a consolidated media stream comprising the video clip and a portion of responses in the stored response file set, the portion of responses comprising content corresponding to the context of the filter criteria;
- and
- publishing, via the computing device on the interactive network platform, said consolidated media stream, such that each of the plurality of users is capable of streaming said consolidated media stream.
A computing device comprising:
- a processor;
- and a non-transitory computer-readable storage medium for tangibly storing thereon program logic for execution by the processor, the program logic causing the processor to,
- publish a digital video clip on an interactive network platform accessible by a plurality of users;
- receive a set of response files from a subset of the plurality of users, each response file comprising user generated content (UGC);
- store, in an associated database, the received response file set in association with said digital video clip;
- receive a request from a first user for a consolidated media stream, the request comprising a filter criteria indicating a context;
- generate a consolidated media stream comprising the video clip and a portion of responses in the stored response file set, the portion of responses comprising content corresponding to the context of the filter criteria;
- and
- publish, on the interactive network platform, said consolidated media stream, such that each of the plurality of users is capable of streaming said consolidated media stream.
