Analyzing deployed networks with respect to network solutions

A system comprising:

• one or more processors;
• and
• one or more non-transitory computer-readable media storing computer-executable instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the one or more processors to perform actions comprising:
• predicting a role for each network device of a network that comprises multiple network devices, wherein predicting the role for each network device comprises (i) analyzing feature configurations with respect to each network device, (ii) analyzing real-world deployment variations of network devices that exist within roles observed in networks, and (iii) analyzing information/metadata related to a state of each network device;
• performing component extraction on at least a portion of a design document that provides a network design solution for the network, wherein the component extraction detects relational keywords and design roles from the at least a portion of the design document;
• determining one or more policies related to each network device with respect to other network devices of the network;
• based at least in part on (i) the roles predicted for each network device, (ii) the one or more policies, and (iii) the relational keywords and design roles from the at least a portion of the design document, determining a level of compliance of a configuration of the network with respect to a network design solution;
• and
• based at least in part on the level of compliance, performing a remedial action.

One or more non-transitory computer-readable media storing computer-executable instructions that, when executed by one or more processors, cause the one or more processors to perform actions comprising:

• predicting a role for each network device of a network that comprises multiple network devices, wherein predicting the role for each network device comprises (i) analyzing feature configurations with respect to each network device, (ii) analyzing real-world deployment variations of network devices that exist within roles observed in networks, and (iii) analyzing information/metadata related to a state of each network device;
• determining one or more policies related to each network device with respect to other network devices of the network;
• performing component extraction on at least a portion of a design document that provides a network design solution for the network, wherein the component extraction detects relational keywords and design roles from the at least a portion of the design document;
• based at least in part on (i) the roles predicted for each network device, and (iii) the relational keywords and design roles from the at least a portion of the design document, (ii) the one or more policies, determining a level of compliance of a configuration of the network with respect to a network design solution;
• and
• based at least in part on the level of compliance, performing a remedial action.
