Abstract
A network includes a first wireless node that communicates over a wireless network connection. The first wireless node includes a first encryption engine that processes a first initialization data set and a current transmit sequence associated with a current communication to generate a next transmit sequence that is employed to communicate with a second wireless node that derives a next received sequence that corresponds to the next transmit sequence to process a subsequent communication.
Claims20
A network device comprising:
- a network transceiver configured to couple to another network device over a network;
- a microcontroller coupled to the network transceiver;
- a non-transitory computer readable memory coupled to the microcontroller that stores instructions, that when executed by the microcontroller, cause the microcontroller to:
- store a shared encryption key and a first channel sequence for communicating with the other network device;
- determine a second channel sequence for communicating with the other network device based on the first channel sequence and the shared encryption key;
- and
- cause the network transceiver to transmit a message to the other network device according to the second channel sequence.

A method of communication comprising:
- determining, by a first network device, a first channel sequence for communicating with a second network device over a network;
- determining a second channel sequence for communicating with the second network device based on the first channel sequence and a shared encryption key;
- and
- transmitting a message from the first network device to the second network device over the network according to the second channel sequence.
