System and method for managing digital wallets

A method of providing cashless wagering, the method comprising:

• identifying a restriction entry configured for application to a play account managed by a digital wallet of a player, the restriction entry defines (1) an excluded action that identifies an action prohibited for the play account under certain exclusion conditions and (2) a restriction scope that identifies the exclusion conditions under which the excluded action is prohibited, the excluded action being an exclusion of a transfer of funds into the play account;
• receiving a funds transfer request associated with the play account, the funds transfer request identifies one of (i) a request to transfer funds into the play account from a source account and (ii) a request to transfer funds out of the play account for gaming use;
• determining that (A) the funds transfer request includes an excluded action identified by the restriction entry, and that (B) exclusion conditions identified by the restriction scope are satisfied, wherein determining that the exclusion conditions identified by the restriction scope are satisfied includes determining that the player is within a preconfigured distance of a gaming device based on location data of a mobile device associated with the player and relative to location data of the gaming device;
• and
• denying the funds transfer request based on the determining.

A non-transitory computer-readable medium storing instructions that, when executed by at least one processor, cause the at least one processor to:

• identify a restriction entry configured for application to a play account managed by a digital wallet of a player, the restriction entry defines (1) an excluded action that identifies an action prohibited for the play account under certain exclusion conditions and (2) a restriction scope that identifies the exclusion conditions under which the excluded action is prohibited, the excluded action being an exclusion of a transfer of funds into the play account;
• receive a funds transfer request associated with the play account, the funds transfer request identifies one of (i) a request to transfer funds into the play account from a source account and (ii) a request to transfer funds out of the play account for gaming use;
• determine that (A) the funds transfer request includes an excluded action identified by the restriction entry, and that (B) exclusion conditions identified by the restriction scope are satisfied, wherein determining that the exclusion conditions identified by the restriction scope are satisfied includes determining that the player is within a preconfigured distance of a gaming device based on location data of a mobile device associated with the player and relative to location data of the gaming device;
• and
• deny the funds transfer request based on the determining.
