Abstract
An indication that an allocation unit of a memory sub-system has become unmapped can be received. In response to receiving the indication that the allocation unit of the memory sub-system has become unmapped, the allocation unit can be programmed with a data pattern. Data to be written to the unmapped allocation unit can be received. A write operation can be performed to program the received data at the unmapped allocation unit by using a read voltage that is based on the data pattern.
Claims18
A method comprising:
- receiving an indication that an allocation unit of a memory sub-system has become unmapped;
- in response to receiving the indication that the allocation unit of the memory sub-system has become unmapped, programming, by a processing device, the allocation unit with a data pattern based on a direction of voltage change of a threshold voltage distribution of the allocation unit;
- receiving data to be written to the unmapped allocation unit;
- and
- performing a write operation to program the received data at the unmapped allocation unit by using a read voltage that is based on the data pattern.
A non-transitory computer-readable medium comprising instructions, which when executed by a processing device, cause the processing device to perform operations comprising:
- receiving an indication that an allocation unit of a memory sub-system has become unmapped;
- in response to receiving the indication that the allocation unit of the memory sub-system has become unmapped, programming the allocation unit with a data pattern based on a direction of voltage change of a threshold voltage distribution of the allocation unit;
- receiving data to be written to the unmapped allocation unit;
- and
- performing a write operation to program the received data at the unmapped allocation unit by using a read voltage that is based on the data pattern.
A system comprising:
- a memory component;
- and
- a processing device, operatively coupled with the memory component, to:
- receive an indication that an allocation unit of a memory sub-system has become unmapped;
- in response to receiving the indication that the allocation unit of the memory sub-system has become unmapped, programming the allocation unit with a data pattern based on a direction of voltage change of a threshold voltage distribution of the allocation unit;
- receive data to be written to the unmapped allocation unit;
- and
- perform a write operation to program the received data at the unmapped allocation unit by using a read voltage that is based on the data pattern.
