End-to-end validation of virtual machines

A method comprising:

• in response to detecting a request to validate a service, loading, by a computer comprising a processor and a data storage device, an image of an end-to-end validation function to the data storage device, wherein the end-to-end validation function encompasses the service, wherein the end-to-end validation function comprises a generator function that controls an input of the service, a test library, and a receiver function that controls an output of the service;
• injecting, by the generator function, a test signal directly into the input of the service;
• receiving, by the receiver function, an output signal directly from the output of the service;
• and
• determining, by the processor, a validation decision that is based on the output signal.

A computer storage medium having computer-executable instructions stored thereon that, when executed by a processor, cause the processor to perform operations comprising:

• in response to detecting a request to validate a service, loading, to a data storage device, an image of an end-to-end validation function that encompasses the service, wherein the end-to-end validation function comprises a generator function that controls an input of the service, a test library, and a receiver function that controls an output of the service;
• injecting, by the generator function, a test signal directly into the input of the service;
• receiving, by the receiver function, an output signal directly from the output of the service;
• and
• determining a validation decision that is based on the output signal.
