Abstract
A ceiling fan assembly a motor assembly having a non-rotating, hollow, motor shaft, a stator winding carried by the motor shaft, a wiring harness passing through the hollow of the motor shaft and electrically coupled to the stator winding.
Claims23
A ceiling fan assembly comprising:
- a motor assembly having a non-rotating, hollow, motor shaft;
- a stator winding carried by the motor shaft;
- a wiring harness passing through the hollow motor shaft and electrically coupled to the stator winding;
- a hollow downrod mounted to the motor shaft and the wiring harness passing through the hollow downrod and the non-rotating shaft;
- and,
- a retaining rod passing through the hollow downrod and secured to at least one of the non-rotating motor shaft and the motor assembly and wherein a lower end of the retaining rod has a cap that abuts a lower portion of the non-rotating shaft.

A ceiling fan assembly comprising:
- a motor assembly having a non-rotating, hollow, motor shaft;
- a stator winding carried by the motor shaft;
- and,
- a wiring harness comprising a wiring conduit and body extending from an end of the conduit, wherein the wiring conduit passes through the hollow of the motor shaft and electrically couples to the stator winding and the body is received in a central aperture of the stator.
