Abstract
The present disclosure provides novel metal-organic framework materials (MOFs) useful, for example, for gas adsorption, storage, and/or separation. Also provided are methods of making the MOFs, articles of manufacture incorporating the MOFs and methods for making these, as well as methods of using the MOFs.
Claims11
An isolated metal-organic framework material (MOF) comprising:
- zinc (Zn);
- and
- at least one ligand comprising the structure Ar(R1HR′)(R2H)(R3) or a partly deprotonated form thereof or a completely deprotonated form thereof, wherein:
- Ar comprises an aromatic ring or multi-ring structure;
- R1 is an element bonded to Ar, hydrogen (H), and R′;
- R′ is selected from the group consisting of H, CH3, and C2H5;
- R2 is different from R1 and is an element bonded to Ar and hydrogen (H);
- R1HR′ and R2H are ortho to each other;
- R3 is meta to R1 and para to R2;
- and
- R3 is bonded to Ar and comprises a structure that coordinates with the zinc, wherein R3 is selected from the group consisting of an Ar(R1HR′)(R2H) moiety, C(═O)OH, OH, SH, NH2, NHR′, and a heterocyclic ring.
An isolated metal-organic framework material (MOF) comprising:
- zinc;
- and
- at least one ligand, wherein the at least one ligand is 3-amino-4-hydroxybenzoic acid or a partly deprotonated form thereof or a completely deprotonated form thereof.
