Filtering assembly comprising a filter cartridge

A filter cartridge for filtering a fluid, comprising:

• a filter medium configured to filter the fluid;
• a lower end plate coupled to a lower end of the filter medium;
• and
• an upper end plate coupled to an upper end of the filter medium opposite the lower end, the upper end plate comprising:
• a circular rim protruding axially from a periphery of a central opening defined in the upper end plate, the circular rim having an outer peripheral surface, and
• at least one blind hole defined in a surface of the upper end plate that faces away from the filter medium, the at least one blind hole located radially outwards of the circular rim,
• wherein:
• the outer peripheral surface of the circular rim is configured to engage an inner peripheral surface of a circular rib of a cover of a filter body when the filter cartridge is installed in the filter body such that the circular rim is sealingly engaged radially by the circular rib, and
• the at least one blind hole being configured to be closed by an outer rib of the cover disposed radially outward of the circular rib and extending to the upper end plate when the filter cartridge is installed in the filter body.
