Metallic copper fine particles coated with a fatty acid and an ester compound. Also disclosed is an antiviral agent containing the metallic copper fine particles and a method for producing the metallic copper fine particles.

Metallic copper fine particles, which are coated with a fatty acid and an ester compound, wherein
- the ester compound is an ester compound of the fatty acid and polyol, and
- the polyol is selected from the group consisting of ethylene glycol, diethylene glycol, and triethylene glycol.
