A method of driving a massage chair, wherein the massage chair includes a backrest, a seat, first and second massage arms assembled with the backrest, a rotary shaft formed through a common central axis of the first and second massage arms, a plurality of bottom airbags disposed in the seat, and a plurality of lateral airbags disposed at a left and a right side of the seat, the first massage arm having a first upper contact member and first lower contact member, the second massage arm having a second upper contact member and second lower contact member, the method comprising:
- defining a coordinate system including a lengthwise axis extending along a length of the backrest, a transversal axis extending from a left toward a right side of the backrest, and a front-rear axis extending from a front toward a rear of the backrest;
- configuring the massage chair so as to enable the first and second massage arms to move along the lengthwise axis;
- configuring the massage chair so as to enable the first upper contact member, first lower contact member, second upper contact member, and second lower contact member to move along the front-rear axis;
- configuring the massage chair so as to enable the first upper contact member and second upper contact member to move in such a way that a distance between the first upper contact member and the second upper contact member is greater than a distance between the first lower contact member and second lower contact member;
- configuring the massage chair so as to enable the first upper contact member and second upper contact member to move in such a way that a distance between the first upper contact member and the second upper contact member is less than a distance between the first lower contact member and second lower contact member;
- configuring the massage chair so as to enable the first upper contact member and second upper contact member to move in such a way that a distance between the first upper contact member and the second upper contact member is equal to a distance between the first lower contact member and second lower contact member;
- configuring the massage chair so as to enable the first and second upper contact members to move away from one another while the first and second lower contact members move away from one another;
- configuring the massage chair so as to enable the first and second upper contact members to move toward each other while the first and second lower contact members move toward each other;
- driving the first and second massage arms to perform a first sequence of massage actions including:
- moving the first and second massage arms along the lengthwise axis to a first position so that the first upper contact member, first lower contact member, second upper contact member, and second lower contact member are placed adjacent to an upper shoulder area;
- while the first and second massage arms are in the first position, actuating the first and second massage arms so as to cause the first upper contact member, first lower contact member, second upper contact member, and second lower contact member to move forward along the front-rear axis and apply a single kneading action;
- moving the first and second massage arms downward along the lengthwise axis from the first position to a second position, and concurrently inflating the bottom airbags;
- while the first and second massage arms are in the second position, actuating the first and second massage arms so as to cause the first upper contact member, first lower contact member, second upper contact member, and second lower contact member to move forward along the front-rear axis and to apply another single kneading action;
- positioning the first upper contact member, first lower contact member, second upper contact member, and second lower contact member in a narrow state, the narrow state being a state in which a distance between the first and second upper contact members are separated by a first upper distance and a distance between the first and second lower contact members are separated by a first lower distance;
- positioning the first upper contact member, first lower contact member, second upper contact member, and second lower contact member from the narrow state to a medium state by moving the first and second upper contact members away from each other while also moving the first and second lower contact members away from each other, wherein the medium state is a state in which a distance between the first and second upper contact members are separated by a second upper distance and a distance between the first and second lower contact members are separated by a second lower distance, the second upper distance being greater than the first upper distance, the second lower distance being greater than the first lower distance;
- and
- positioning the first upper contact member, first lower contact member, second upper contact member, and second lower contact member from the medium state to a wide state by moving the first and second upper contact members away from each other and while also moving the first and second lower contact members toward each other, wherein the wide state is a state in which a distance between the first and second upper contact members are separated by a third upper distance and a distance between the first and second lower contact members are separated by a third lower distance, the third upper distance being greater than the second upper distance, the third lower distance being less than the second lower distance.
