Abstract
A surgical patient support includes a foundation frame, a support top, and a brake system. The foundation frame includes a first column and a second column. The support top is coupled to the first column and the second column for rotation about a top axis extending along the length of the support top. A single-handle unlock for the support top is also provided.
Claims22
A surgical patient support apparatus comprising:
- a foundation frame comprising:
- a first column comprising a rotation drive, a drive shaft, and a drive coupler;
- a second column comprising a second shaft;
- and an extension extending between lower portions of the first and second columns;
- and
- a support top disposed above the extension and coupled to the drive shaft of the first column and the second shaft of the second column of the foundation frame to rotate with the drive shaft, the support top configured to rotate about a top axis extending along the length of the support top relative to the foundation frame, wherein the drive coupler is configured to move between an engaged position, coupling the drive shaft to the rotation drive so that the support top is rotated about the top axis, and a disengaged position, de-coupling the drive shaft from the rotation drive so that the support top is free to be manually rotated about the top axis, wherein the drive coupler includes a first engagement member that extends through the rotation drive and into the drive shaft when the drive coupler is in the engaged position.
A surgical patient support apparatus comprising:
- a foundation frame including a rotation drive, a drive shaft and a drive coupler;
- a support top coupled to the drive shaft of the foundation frame, the support top configured to rotate about a top axis extending along the length of the support top relative to the foundation frame;
- and
- a user control, the user control being moveable between a forward position oriented towards the support top and a backward position oriented away from the support top, wherein moving the user control to the forward position couples the drive shaft to the rotation drive so that the support top is rotatable about the top axis by the rotation drive, wherein moving the user control to the backward position decouples the drive shaft from the rotation drive so that the support top is free to be manually rotated about the top axis.
A surgical patient support apparatus comprising:
- a foundation frame, the foundation frame comprising:
- a first column comprising a first shaft and a rotation system;
- and
- a support top coupled to the first shaft of the first column of the foundation frame, the support top configured to rotate about a top axis extending along a length of the support top relative to the foundation frame, wherein the rotation system is configured to move between a powered mode in which the first shaft is engaged with the rotation system so that the support top is rotated by power about the top axis, and a manual mode in which the first shaft is disengaged from the rotation system so that the support top is free to be manually rotated about the top axis, wherein the rotation system includes a first engagement member that couples to the first shaft when the rotation system is in the powered mode.
