Abstract
To provide an improved radar apparatus capable of expanding the aperture length per antenna element and the aperture length of the virtual reception array antenna. One of a transmission array antenna and a reception array antenna includes a first antenna element group having m-pieces of antenna elements arranged at a first interval Dt along a first axis direction (m is an integer of 1 or larger), and the other one of the transmission array antenna and the reception array antenna includes a second antenna element group having (n+1)-pieces of antenna elements arranged at a second interval Dr(n) along the first axis direction (n is an integer of 1 or larger).
Claims7
A radar apparatus, comprising:
- a radar transmission circuit that transmits a radar signal from a transmission array antenna;
- and
- a radar reception circuit that receives, from a reception array antenna, a reflected wave signal that is the radar signal reflected at a target, wherein:
- one of the transmission array antenna and the reception array antenna includes a first antenna element group having m antenna elements arranged at a first interval Dt along a first axis direction, wherein m is an integer of 1 or larger;
- the other one of the transmission array antenna and the reception array antenna includes a second antenna element group having n+1 antenna elements arranged at a second interval Dr(n) along the first axis direction, wherein n is an integer of 1 or larger;
- the first interval Dt satisfies equation 1:
- Dt=nt×dH,
- wherein dH denotes a first basic interval, and nt is an integer of 1 or larger;
- the second interval Dr(n) satisfies equation 2:
- Dr(n)=(nr(n)×nt+1)dH,
- wherein
- nr=[nr(1),nr(2), . . . ,nr(Na−1)],nr(n)=nr(Na−n),
- Na is an integer satisfying 1≤n<Na−1;
- and
- nr satisfies equation 3:
- nr(Na/2)=1,
- when Na is an even number, and
- nr(Na−1)/2)=1
- and
- nr(Na+1)/2)=1,
- when Na is an odd number.
