Abstract
Interpolymers useful for mixing with a fertilizer for the purpose of enhancing the efficacy of fertilizer nutrients in agricultural applications; and methods of inhibiting the precipitation of, and/or dispersing, inorganic elements in the fertilizer.
Claims19
A method of enhancing the efficacy of fertilizer nutrients in a fertilizer solution, comprising adding to the fertilizer solution an effective amount of a precipitation inhibiting or dispersing interpolymer, the interpolymer comprising Structures A, B, C, and D:
- wherein:
- Y is H;
- Z is COOX;
- X is independently at each occurrence Na or K;
- R2, R12, and R14 are each independently H;
- R3 is H;
- R4 is
- (—C(CH3)2—CH2—);
- R13 is
- (—C(CH3)CH2OH) or
- (—CH2—CH(CH3)OH);
- and
- W is N(H)(C(CH3)2—CH3)
A method of enhancing the efficacy of fertilizer nutrients in a fertilizer, comprising adding to the fertilizer an effective amount of a precipitation inhibiting and dispersing interpolymer, the interpolymer comprising Structures A, B, C, and D:
- wherein:
- Y is H;
- Z is COOX;
- X is independently at each occurrence a metal cation;
- R2, R12, and R14 are each independently H;
- R3 is H;
- R4 is —C(CH3)2—CH2—;
- R13 is —C(CH3)CH2OH or —CH2—CH(CH3)OH;
- W is N(R15)(R16);
- wherein
- R15 is H;
- and
- R16 is —C(CH3)2—CH3.
