Abstract
The present invention provides a process for preparing an improved compounded product and a compounded product prepared by that process.
Claims9
A compounded nylon prepared by a process of:
- introducing a nylon 6/6 feedstock to one or more extruders at a consistent rate, wherein at least one extruder contains at least two vent ports, wherein at least one of the at least two vent ports is subjected to vacuum conditions, and wherein all vacuum conditions in the extruder are applied consistently;
- and
- mixing and/or blending the nylon feedstock with one or more materials to provide the compounded nylon;
- wherein the nylon feedstock is prepared in a molten form by a batch polymerization process or a continuous polymerization process and delivered directly in molten form to the one or more extruders.
