Abstract
Antibodies and antigen binding fragments thereof directed against Staphylococcus aureus (S. aureus) surface determinant antigens and secreted toxins are disclosed. Methods of detecting, diagnosing and treating S. aureus using the antibodies and antigen binding fragments thereof are also provided.
Claims12
A method of treating an S. aureus infection in a patient, comprising administering an antibody or antigen binding fragment thereof that specifically binds to an S. aureus alpha toxin (AT) and an antibody or antigen binding fragment thereof that specifically binds to an S. aureus surface determinant antigen, wherein the S. aureus surface determinant antigen is ClfA, wherein the antibody or antigen binding fragment thereof that specifically binds AT comprises:
- a. a heavy chain variable region (VH) complementarity determining region (CDR)1 comprising the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO:69;
- b. a VH CDR2 comprising the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO:70;
- c. a VH CDR3 comprising the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO:71;
- d. a light chain variable region (VL) CDR1 comprising the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO:1;
- e. a VL CDR2 comprising the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO:2;
- and
- f. a VL CDR3 comprising the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO:68.
