Abstract
The present application provides a process of preparing 3,3,3-trifluoroprop-1-ene, comprising reacting 3-chloro-1,1,1-trifluoropropane with a base in an aqueous solvent component in the absence of a phase transfer catalyst.
Claims8
A composition comprising:
- i) between about 0.1 to about 0.1 mol % 1,1,1,3-tetrafluoropropane (254fb);
- and
- ii) about 70% or greater 3,3,3-trifluoroprop-1-ene (1243zf).
A composition comprising:
- i) from about 0.01 to about 0.1 mol % 1,1,1,3-tetrafluoropropane (254fb);
- ii) 3,3,3-trifluoroprop-1-ene (1243zf);
- and
- iii) at least one member selected from the group consisting of 243db, 1233xf and 244bb.
