Abstract
Embodiments relate to systems, chambers, and methods for processing particles by washing, concentrating, and/or treating the particles. Some embodiments provide for the processing of cells that may be in a liquid medium (e.g., a liquid in which the cells were grown) and are processed by being washed and concentrated for later use in research or other therapies.
Claims19
A chamber for separating particles from a liquid, the chamber comprising:
- an entry port for introducing a first liquid and particles into a volume of the chamber;
- a first exit port, located below the entry port, for removing the particles from the volume of the chamber;
- a second exit port, located above the first exit port, for removing liquid from the volume of the chamber;
- a sloped surface that directs at least a portion of the particles toward the first exit port;
- and
- a channel in fluid communication with the entry port and formed in a side wall of the chamber as a downward projecting baffle that directs a flow of the first liquid and the particles away from the entry port and the second exit port upon introducing the first liquid and the particles into the volume of the chamber through the entry port.
