## Claims

### Claim 1

A method of treating a subject suffering from anxiety comprising administering an effective amount of a compound of formula (I) to the subject:
wherein R1 is —C(═O)OR3, R3 is CH3 and R2 is straight C5 alkyl,
wherein the method does not include administering the compound of formula I wherein R3 is a straight or branched C2-C15 alkyl, does not include administering the compound of formula I wherein R3 is a straight or branched C2-C15 alkenyl, and does not include administering the compound of formula I wherein R3 is straight or branched C2-C15 alkynyl.

The method of claim 1, wherein the compound is administered orally, nasally, topically, parenterally, or via an implant.

The method of claim 1, wherein the compound is administered orally.

### Claim 4 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, wherein the compound is administered in a pharmaceutical composition in the form of a pill, a tablet, a dragee, a capsule, a powder, a granule, a solution, or a suspension.

### Claim 5 (depends on 4)

The method of claim 4, wherein the pharmaceutical composition comprises an auxiliary agent selected from the group consisting of a carrier, a filler, a binder, a diluent, a disintegrant, a lubricant, a colorant, a flavoring agent, an anti-oxidant, and a wetting agent.

The method of claim 4, wherein the pharmaceutical composition comprises an additional therapeutic agent.

### Claim 7 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, wherein the subject suffers from stress-induced anxiety.
