## Abstract

Disclosed are methods and compositions for treating diabetes mellitus and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease by administering a therapeutic agent that inhibits the biological activity of B cell lymphoma 6 protein (BCL6).

## Claims

### Claim 1

A method for treating non-alcoholic fatty liver disease in a subject in need thereof, the method comprising administering to the subject a therapeutic agent that inhibits the expression of B cell lymphoma protein 6 (BCL6).

### Claim 2 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, comprising inhibiting expression of BCL6 in adipocytes.

### Claim 3 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, comprising inhibiting expression of BCL6 in hepatocytes.

### Claim 4 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, wherein the method promotes insulin sensitivity.

### Claim 5 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, wherein the method prevents hepatic steatosis.

### Claim 6 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, wherein the method enhances glucose tolerance.

### Claim 7 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, wherein the method enhances glucose-stimulated insulin secretion.
