Abstract
A container for holding a food product. The container can comprise a base layer and a liner at least partially attached to an inner surface of the base layer, a flange comprising a central panel of the base layer, an opening extending in the central panel, and a sidewall comprising at least a panel foldably connected to the central panel along the opening.
Claims41
A container for holding a food product, the container comprising:
- a base layer and a liner at least partially attached to an inner surface of the base layer;
- a flange comprising a central panel of the base layer;
- an opening extending in the central panel;
- a sidewall comprising at least a first panel foldably connected to the central panel along a first fold line extending along the opening and a second panel foldably connected to the central panel along a second fold line that is spaced apart from the opening;
- and
- a bottom wall comprising a first bottom panel foldably connected to the first panel and a second bottom panel foldably connected to the second panel.
A container for holding a food product, the container comprising:
- a base layer and a liner at least partially attached to an inner surface of the base layer;
- a flange comprising a central panel of the base layer;
- an opening extending in the central panel;
- and
- a sidewall comprising at least a first panel foldably connected to the central panel along a first fold line extending along the opening and a second panel foldably connected to the central panel along a second fold line that is spaced apart from the opening;
- wherein each of the first panel and the second panel comprises a respective lower portion foldably connected to a respective upper portion along a respective intermediate fold line.
In combination, a blank and a liner material for forming a container for holding a food product, the blank comprising:
- a central panel for at least partially forming a flange of the container formed from the blank and the liner material;
- an opening extending in the central panel;
- a first panel foldably connected to the central panel along a first fold line extending along the opening and a second panel foldably connected to the central panel along a second fold line that is spaced apart from the opening, the first panel and the second panel being for cooperating to at least partially form a sidewall of the container formed from the blank and the liner material;
- and
- a first bottom panel foldably connected to the first panel and a second bottom panel foldably connected to the second panel, the first bottom panel and the second bottom panel being for at least partially forming a bottom wall when the container is formed from the blank and the liner material;
- the blank is for forming a base layer of the container, and the liner material is for being at least partially attached to an inner surface of the base layer when the container is formed from the blank and the liner material.
In combination, a blank and a liner material for forming a container for holding a food product, the blank comprising:
- a central panel for at least partially forming a flange of the container formed from the blank and the liner material;
- an opening extending in the central panel;
- and
- a first panel foldably connected to the central panel along a first fold line extending along the opening and a second panel foldably connected to the central panel along a second fold line that is spaced apart from the opening, the first panel and the second panel being for cooperating to at least partially form a sidewall of the container formed from the blank and the liner material, wherein each of the first panel and the second panel comprises a respective lower portion foldably connected to a respective upper portion along a respective intermediate fold line;
- the blank is for forming a base layer of the container, and the liner material is for being at least partially attached to an inner surface of the base layer when the container is formed from the blank and the liner material.
A method of forming a container for holding a food product, the method comprising:
- obtaining a flat construct, the flat construct comprising a central panel, an opening extending in the central panel, a first panel foldably connected to the central panel along a first fold line extending along the opening, a second panel foldably connected to the central panel along a second fold line that is spaced apart from the opening, a first bottom panel foldably connected to the first panel, and a second bottom panel foldably connected to the second panel;
- forming a base layer of the container by folding the first panel and the second panel to extend at least downwardly from the central panel and positioning the first bottom panel and the second bottom panel relative to one another so that the first panel and the second panel at least partially form a sidewall, the first bottom panel and the second bottom panel at least partially form a bottom wall, and the central panel at least partially forms a flange;
- and
- attaching a liner to an inner surface of the base layer.
