## Abstract

A prosthesis retaining assembly for securing an implantable prosthesis to a catheter assembly can include a first member including a prosthesis retaining slot configured to retain a portion of the prosthesis. The retaining slot can have a first portion with a first width and a second portion with a second width. The first portion can be distal to the second portion. The second width can be larger than the first width, and the retaining slot can have an opening at a first surface of the first member. The prosthesis retaining assembly can also include a second member configured to be move relative to the first member. The second member can be configured to move to a position that obstructs a portion of the opening of the retaining slot.

## Claims

### Claim 1

A prosthesis retaining assembly for securing an implantable prosthesis to a catheter assembly, the prosthesis retaining assembly comprising:
a first member including a prosthesis retaining slot configured to retain a portion of the prosthesis, the retaining slot having an opening at a first surface of the first member, wherein the retaining slot comprises a first portion with a first width and a second portion with a second width, the second width being larger than the first width and the first portion of the retaining slot being radially outward with respect to the second portion; and
a second member configured to be moved relative to the first member, the second member being configured to move to a position that obstructs a portion of the opening of the retaining slot.

### Claim 2 (depends on 1)

The prosthesis retaining assembly according to claim 1, wherein the first portion of the retaining slot is distal to the second portion.

### Claim 3 (depends on 1)

The prosthesis retaining assembly of claim 1, wherein the second member is an outer tube surrounding the first member.

### Claim 4 (depends on 1)

The prosthesis retaining assembly of claim 1,
wherein the first member includes a hollow chamber, and wherein the surface of the first member is an interior surface defining the hollow chamber, and
wherein second member comprises a blocking member positioned within the chamber.

### Claim 5 (depends on 4)

The prosthesis retaining assembly of claim 4, wherein the blocking member includes a central lumen.

### Claim 6 (depends on 4)

The prosthesis retaining assembly of claim 4, further comprising a biasing member coupled to the blocking member, wherein the biasing member applies a biasing force to the blocking member.

### Claim 7 (depends on 6)

The prosthesis retaining assembly of claim 6, wherein the biasing member moves the blocking member to a second position that does not obstruct the portion of the opening of the retaining slot.

### Claim 8 (depends on 7)

The prosthesis retaining assembly of claim 7, wherein the biasing member is configured to rotationally bias the blocking member to the position that obstructs a portion of the opening of the retaining slot.

### Claim 9 (depends on 1)

The prosthesis retaining assembly according to claim 1, wherein the first member further comprises a central lumen configured to receive a catheter shaft.

### Claim 10 (depends on 4)

The prosthesis retaining assembly of claim 4, further comprising a biasing member coupled to the blocking member, wherein the biasing member biases the blocking member to the position that obstructs a portion of the opening of the retaining slot.

### Claim 11 (depends on 1)

The prosthesis retaining assembly according claim 1, the first member further including second and third prosthesis retaining slots.

### Claim 12 (depends on 1)

The prosthesis retaining assembly according to claim 1, the first member further including a second prosthesis retaining slot, wherein the second prosthesis retaining slot includes an opening at the first surface of the first member, wherein the second prosthesis retaining slot comprises a first portion with a first width and a second portion with a second width, the second width being larger than the first width and the first portion of the second prosthesis retaining slot being radially outward with respect to the second portion.

### Claim 13 (depends on 12)

The prosthesis retaining assembly according to claim 12, further comprising a circumferential channel proximal of the retaining slot and the second prosthesis retaining slot, wherein the circumferential channel connects the retaining slot and the second prosthesis retaining slot.

### Claim 14 (depends on 12)

The prosthesis retaining assembly of claim 12, wherein the retainer slot and the second prosthesis retainer slot are not connected to each other.

### Claim 15

A catheter assembly comprising:
a shaft;
a prosthesis retaining assembly coupled to the shaft, the prosthesis retaining assembly comprising:
a first member including a prosthesis retaining slot configured to retain a portion of the prosthesis, the retaining slot having an opening at a first surface of the first member, wherein the retaining slot comprises a first portion with a first width and a second portion with a second width, the second width being larger than the first width and the first portion of the retaining slot being radially outward with respect to the second portion; and
a second member configured to be moved relative to the first member, the second member being configured to move to a position that obstructs a portion of the opening of the retaining slot.

### Claim 16 (depends on 15)

The catheter assembly according to claim 15, further comprising an implantable prosthesis coupled to the prosthesis retaining assembly.

### Claim 17 (depends on 16)

The catheter assembly according to claim 16, wherein the implantable prosthesis includes an eyelet configured to be received in the retaining slot of the prosthesis retaining assembly.

### Claim 18 (depends on 17)

The catheter assembly according to claim 17, wherein the second member is an outer tube, wherein in a delivery configuration the outer tube surrounds the prosthesis retaining assembly with the eyelet of the implantable prosthesis disposed in the retaining slot, and wherein in a deployed configuration, the outer tube is retracted to enable the eyelet of the implantable prosthesis to radially expand out of the retaining slot.
