Abstract
The invention relates to a rotor (2, 15) for a fluid pump (1), in particular for use in the medical sphere, the rotor being compressible for bringing to the place of use and thereafter being expandable. The compressibility is assisted by the provision of cavities (27, 28, 29), in particular also production of the rotor at least partially from a foam.
Claims12
A compressible rotor for a fluid pump comprising:
- at least one blade;
- and
- one or more deformable cavities disposed within the at least one blade, the one or more deformable cavities being delimited at least partially by a semipermeable membrane,
- wherein the one or more deformable cavities are configured to be filled with a solution, and
- wherein the semipermeable membrane is configured to allow osmotic diffusion of a fluid into the one or more deformable cavities when the compressible rotor is submerged in the fluid.
