Abstract
A solar actuator system comprising at least one actuator assembly. The actuator assembly includes: a top coupler; an angled bottom coupler having a top-end and respective first and second faces on opposing first and second sides of the top-end, the angled bottom coupler coupled to the top coupler via a one-degree-of-freedom joint between the top coupler and the angled bottom coupler; and at least a first and second actuator, with the first actuator disposed on the first side of the angled bottom coupler and the second actuator disposed on the second side of the angled bottom coupler.

A solar actuator system comprising:
- at least one fluidic actuator assembly that includes:
- a top coupler;
- an angled bottom coupler having a top-end and respective first and second planar faces on opposing first and second sides of the top-end;
- at least a first and second fluidic inflatable actuator, with the first fluidic inflatable actuator disposed on the first side of the angled bottom coupler engaging the first planar face and the second fluidic inflatable actuator disposed antagonistically from the first fluidic inflatable actuator on the second side of the angled bottom coupler engaging the second planar face;
- a fixing structure that couples the top coupler to the angled bottom coupler forming a linear one-degree-of-freedom rotatable joint between the top coupler and the angled bottom coupler, the linear one-degree-of-freedom rotatable joint having no more than one axis of rotation,
- wherein the first and second fluidic inflatable actuators are configured to antagonistically move the top coupler relative to the angled bottom coupler about the linear one-degree-of-freedom rotatable joint between the top coupler and the angled bottom coupler about no more than the one axis of rotation, and
- wherein position of the top coupler relative to the angled bottom coupler is generated at least in part by:
- a first pressure of a first fluid in the first fluidic inflatable actuator, the first fluid being introduced to the first fluidic inflatable actuator from a shared fluid source;
- and
- a second pressure of a second fluid in the second fluidic inflatable actuator, the second fluid being introduced to the second fluidic inflatable actuator from the shared fluid source;
- one or more fluid carriers that fluidically couple the shared fluid source to the first and second inflatable actuators, the one or more fluid carriers comprising tubing;
- and
- a central electronic control configured to control the position of the top coupler relative to the angled bottom coupler in order to match an angle of the sun by selectively introducing fluid from the shared fluid source into the first and second fluidic inflatable actuators via the one or more fluid carriers.
A solar actuator system comprising:
- at least one fluidic actuator assembly that includes:
- a top coupler;
- an angled bottom coupler having a top-end and respective first and second planar faces on opposing first and second sides of the top-end, the angled bottom coupler coupled to the top coupler via a linear one-degree-of-freedom rotatable joint between the top coupler and the angled bottom coupler, the linear one-degree-of-freedom rotatable joint having no more than one axis of rotation;
- and
- at least a first and second fluidic inflatable actuator, with the first fluidic inflatable actuator disposed on the first side of the angled bottom coupler engaging the first planar face and the second fluidic inflatable actuator disposed antagonistically from the first fluidic inflatable actuator on the second side of the angled bottom coupler engaging the second planar face.
A solar actuator system comprising:
- at least one actuator assembly that includes:
- a top coupler;
- an angled bottom coupler having a top-end and respective first and second faces on opposing first and second sides of the top-end, the angled bottom coupler coupled to the top coupler via a one-degree-of-freedom joint between the top coupler and the angled bottom coupler, the one-degree-of-freedom rotatable joint having no more than one axis of rotation;
- and
- at least a first and second actuator, with the first actuator disposed on the first side of the angled bottom coupler and the second actuator disposed on the second side of the angled bottom coupler.
