N-alkyl-N-cyanoalkylbenzamide compound and use thereof

An intermediate compound for preparing an N-alkyl-N-cyanoalkylbenzamide compound, wherein the intermediate compound is represented by General Formula II:

• wherein R1 is selected from halo or C1-C3alkyl;
• R2 is selected from halo or CN;
• R6 is selected from C1-C3alkyl, C1-C3 haloalkyl or C1-C5 alkoxyalkyl;
• R7 is selected from C1-C5 alkyl;
• and
• R8 is selected from hydrogen or C1-C5 alkyl.

A process of preparing insecticides for controlling pests, comprising a step of dispersing an N-alkyl-N-cyanoalkylbenzamide compound of General Formula I in an acceptable carrier to prepare an insecticidal composition, wherein General Formula I has a structure of:

• R2 is selected from halo or CN;
• R3 is selected from halo, C1-C3 haloalkyl;
• R4 is selected from halo;
• R5 is selected from H or halo;
• R6 is selected from C1-C3 alkyl, C1-C3 haloalkyl or C1-C5 alkoxyalkyl;
• R7 is selected from C1-C5 alkyl;
• and
• R8 is selected from hydrogen or C1-C5 alkyl.
