Temporary handling of wireless communication device capabilities

A wireless communication device (UE) comprising:

• radio circuitry configured to wirelessly communicate with a first base station according to a first radio access technology (RAT), wherein the first base station is a new radio (NR) base station (gNB) and the first RAT is NR;
• a processor configured to:
• transmit, via the radio circuitry, assistance information to the first base station, wherein the assistance information comprises first preferred values of first operating parameters of the UE corresponding to timing information for communicating according to the first RAT, wherein the first operating parameters include:
• K0, associated with a time difference between transmissions of a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) and a physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH), and
• K2, associated with a time difference between transmissions of the PDCCH and a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH);
• and
• conduct transmissions, via the radio circuitry, with the first base station according to:
• adjusted first operating parameters in response to the first base station adjusting the first operating parameters according to the first preferred values;
• or
• unadjusted first operating parameters in response to the first base station not adjusting the first operating parameters.

A new radio (NR) base station (gNB) comprising:

• radio circuitry configured to wirelessly communicate with a wireless communication device (UE) according to a first radio access technology (RAT), wherein the first RAT is NR;
• and
• a processor configured to:
• receive, via the radio circuitry, assistance information from the UE, wherein the assistance information comprises first preferred values of first operating parameters of the UE corresponding to timing information for communicating according to the first RAT, wherein the first operating parameters include:
• K0, associated with a time difference between transmissions of a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) and a physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH), and
• K2, associated with a time difference between transmissions of the PDCCH and a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH);
• and
• conduct transmissions, via the radio circuitry, with the UE according to:
• adjusted first operating parameters in response to the processor adjusting the first operating parameters according to the first preferred values;
• or
• unadjusted first operating parameters in response to the processor not adjusting the first operating parameters.
