Abstract
A device may receive a request to establish a session for a wireless communication device over a wireless network; identify the wireless communication device as an unmanned aerial vehicle; modify operating parameters of a radio access network (RAN), with which the wireless communication device has a radio resource control (RRC) link, to optimize communication between the access network and the unmanned aerial vehicle. The wireless network includes the RAN.
Claims20
A device comprising:
- a processor to execute instructions to:
- receive device data for a wireless communication device, wherein the device data indicates that the wireless communication device is an unmanned aerial vehicle;
- store the device data as part of a subscription profile;
- receive a request to establish a session for the wireless communication device over a wireless network;
- identify the wireless communication device as an unmanned aerial vehicle, wherein when identifying, the processor is to:
- receive an identifier, associated with the wireless communication device, from the wireless communication device;
- use the identifier to retrieve the subscription profile;
- and
- determine, based on the subscription profile, that the wireless communication device is an unmanned aerial vehicle;
- and
- modify operating parameters of a radio access network (RAN), with which the wireless communication device has a radio resource control (RRC) link, to optimize communication between the RAN and the identified unmanned aerial vehicle,
- wherein the wireless network includes the RAN.
A method comprising:
- receiving device data for a wireless communication device, wherein the device data indicates that the wireless communication device is an unmanned aerial vehicle;
- storing the device data as part of a subscription profile,
- receiving a request to establish a session for the wireless communication device over a wireless network;
- identifying the wireless communication device as an unmanned aerial vehicle, wherein the identifying includes:
- receiving an identifier, associated with the wireless communication device, from the wireless communication device;
- using the identifier to retrieve the subscription profile;
- and
- determining, based on the subscription profile, that the wireless communication device is an unmanned aerial vehicle;
- and
- modifying operating parameters of a radio access network (RAN), with which the wireless communication device has a radio resource control (RRC) link, to optimize communication between the RAN and the identified unmanned aerial vehicle,
- wherein the wireless network includes the RAN.
A non-transitory computer-readable medium comprising processor-executable instructions, when executed by a processor, cause the processor to:
- receive device data for a wireless communication device, wherein the device data indicates that the wireless communication device is an unmanned aerial vehicle;
- store the device data as part of a subscription profile;
- receive a request to establish a session for the wireless communication device over a wireless network;
- identify the wireless communication device as an unmanned aerial vehicle, wherein when identifying, the processor is to:
- receive an identifier, associated with the wireless communication device, from the wireless communication device;
- use the identifier to retrieve the subscription profile;
- and
- determine, based on the subscription profile, that the wireless communication device is an unmanned aerial vehicle;
- and
- modify operating parameters of a radio access network (RAN), with which the wireless communication device has a radio resource control (RRC) link, to optimize communication between the RAN and the identified unmanned aerial vehicle,
- wherein the wireless network includes the RAN.
