Abstract
Embodiments are provided for enhancing an in-store experience for a user of an electronic device. According to certain aspects, the electronic device initiates an in-store mode of an application when the electronic device is located within a retail store, where the in-store mode may enable certain functionalities having certain capabilities. The electronic device may detect when it connects to a network within the retail store and, in response, may indicate enhanced capabilities of the functionalities. The user may select an enhanced capability, and the electronic device may facilitate the associated functionality.
Claims18
A computer-implemented method in an electronic device of enhancing an in-store experience within a retail store, the method comprising:
- initiating, on the electronic device by a processor, an application associated with the retail store and configured to facilitate a digital image print order;
- displaying, via a user interface, an interface associated with an in-store mode of the application, the interface indicating a functionality associated with the digital image print order;
- detecting that the electronic device connects to a network associated with the retail store;
- and
- in response to detecting that the electronic device connects to the network, submitting, via the network, the digital image print order to a server to facilitate printing of a set of digital images associated with the digital image print order by at least one printer located within the retail store, including requesting the server to prioritize a position of the digital image print order in a queue such that the at least one printer prioritizes printing the set of digital images over at least one other digital image print order that was not submitted via the network, wherein the server sends, to the electronic device, a notification indicating the position of the digital image print order in the queue.
An electronic device comprising:
- a transceiver configured to connect to a network associated with a retail store;
- a user interface configured to display content;
- a memory storing a set of computer-executable instructions;
- and
- a processor interfacing with the communication module, the user interface, and the memory, and configured to execute the set of computer-executable instructions to cause the processor to:
- initiate an application associated with the retail store and configured to facilitate a digital image print order,
- cause the user interface to display an interface associated with an in-store mode of the application, the interface indicating a functionality associated with the digital image print order,
- detect that the electronic device connects, via the transceiver, to the network associated with the retail store, and
- in response to detecting that the electronic device connects to the network, transmit, via the transceiver connected to the network, the digital image print order to a server to facilitate printing of a set of digital images associated with the digital image print order by at least one printer located within the retail store, including requesting the server to prioritize a position of the digital image print order in a queue such that the at least one printer prioritizes printing the set of digital images over at least one other digital image print order that was not submitted via the network, wherein the server sends, to the electronic device, a notification indicating the position of the digital image print order in the queue.
