Abstract
A system and method for an automatic messaging system which automatically sends emails or pages to groups of people with specific data from a database. Other messaging tools may be utilized. The data source that provides information may be any ODBC compliant data source including standard DBMS (SQL Server, Oracle, Informix, DB2, Sybase, etc.) Access databases, or Excel spreadsheets.
Claims20
A computer-implemented method comprising:
- accessing, by an executable application, a main configuration file comprising a message sender, an address list including one or more message recipients, and query information identifying data to be queried from a database;
- accessing, by the executable application, a message configuration file that includes definitions for one or more data queries defining the data that are to be queried from the database;
- querying, by the executable application, the database for the data defined by the message configuration file;
- and
- sending, by the executable application, a message from the message sender identified in the main configuration file to the one or more message recipients identified in the address list, the message including the data queried from the database.
A system comprising a memory storing executable computer instructions that, when executed by a processor, perform operations including:
- accessing, by an executable application, a main configuration file comprising a message sender, an address list including one or more message recipients, and query information identifying data to be queried from a database;
- accessing, by the executable application, a message configuration file that includes definitions for one or more data queries defining the data that are to be queried from the database;
- querying, by the executable application, the database for the data defined by the message configuration file;
- and
- sending, by the executable application, a message from the message sender identified in the main configuration file to the one or more message recipients identified in the address list, the message including the data queried from the database.
A non-transitory computer-readable medium comprising computer-readable instructions that, when executed by at least one processor of a computing device, cause the computing device to:
- access, by an executable application, a main configuration file comprising a message sender, an address list including one or more message recipients, and query information identifying data to be queried from a database;
- access, by the executable application, a message configuration file that includes definitions for one or more data queries defining the data that are to be queried from the database;
- query, by the executable application, the database for the data defined by the message configuration file;
- and
- send, by the executable application, a message from the message sender identified in the main configuration file to the one or more message recipients identified in the address list, the message including the data queried from the database.
