Methods for managing storage systems with dualport solid-state disks accessible by multiple hosts and devices thereof

A method, comprising:

• determining, by a computing device, whether a translation for a logical address extracted from a storage operation is stored in an in-core conventional namespace (CNS) mapping table, wherein the translation comprises a physical address in a CNS of a dual-port solid state disk (SSD);
• and
• when the determination indicates the translation is not stored in the in-core CNS mapping table:
• inserting, by the computing device, another translation for the logical address into the in-core CNS mapping table, when the storage operation is a write request, wherein the another translation comprises another physical address that is allocated in the CNS.

A non-transitory machine readable medium having stored thereon instructions comprising machine executable code that, when executed by at least one machine, causes the machine to:

• retrieve an identifier for a current zone of a plurality of zones of a zoned namespace (ZNS) of a dual-port solid state disk (SSD) from an entry of an in-core ZNS mapping table, wherein the entry corresponds to a logical address extracted from a storage operation;
• generate a physical location in the ZNS based on an offset and the current zone, wherein the offset is determined from the logical address;
• return data retrieved from the physical location in order to service the storage operation, when the storage operation is a read request and the current zone is determined to be finished based on the entry;
• store other data associated with the storage operation at the physical location in order to service the storage operation, when the storage operation is a write request;
• and
• insert skipped data from a previous zone of the plurality of zones that is identified in the entry into the current zone.
