Techniques involving a security heat map

A computer program product having a non-transitory computer readable medium that stores a set of instructions involving a security heat map associated with a geographic region;

• the set of instructions, when carried out by computerized circuitry, causing the computerized circuitry to perform a method of:
• receiving current heat scores for one or more endpoint devices located within the geographic region;
• providing for areas within the geographic region, respective aggregate heat scores based on the current heat scores for the one or more endpoint devices;
• based on the respective aggregate heat scores for the areas within the geographic region, generating a security heat map defining one or more security zones within the geographic region;
• and
• imposing security policies on the one or more endpoint devices based on the security heat map;
• wherein the security heat map defines respective security levels for security zones;
• and
• wherein imposing the security policies based on the security heat map includes:
• after the security heat map is generated based on the respective aggregate heat scores for the areas within the geographic region, invoking different forms of authentication on endpoint devices based on which security zones the endpoint devices reside in.

An electronic apparatus, comprising:

• a communications interface;
• memory;
• and
• control circuitry coupled to the communications interface and the memory, the memory storing instructions that, when carried out by the control circuitry, cause the control circuitry to:
• receive current heat scores for one or more endpoint devices located within a geographic region,
• provide for areas within the geographic region, respective aggregate heat scores based on the current heat scores for the one or more endpoint devices,
• based on the respective aggregate heat scores for the areas within the geographic region, generate a security heat map defining one or more security zones within the geographic region, and
• impose security policies on the one or more endpoint devices based on the security heat map;
• wherein the security heat map defines respective security levels for security zones;
• and
• wherein the control circuitry, when imposing the security policies based on the security heat map, is constructed and arranged to:
• after the security heat map is generated based on the respective aggregate heat scores for the areas within the geographic region, invoke different forms of authentication on endpoint devices based on which security zones the endpoint devices reside in.
