Abstract
An augmented navigational system is provided for autonomous vehicles. The augmented navigational system may further be coupled to an artificial intelligence system that provides object recognition and image recognition. A machine learning system may provide further feedback as to whether the pickup and drop off location was appropriate, and whether the recognition of one or more objects was appropriate.
Claims20
A method comprising:
- capturing, by one or more cameras of an autonomous vehicle, a live view comprised of one or more images acquired in real time or near real time by at least one camera;
- identifying one or more objects based at least in part on an artificial intelligence enabled module, within the live view as associated with a location;
- wherein identifying the one or more objects in the one or more images is performed by correlating an aspect in the one or more images with at least one stored object associated with the location;
- wherein the identifying the one or more objects is performed upon the autonomous vehicle being located in a geographic area proximate to the location;
- and
- generating an augmented navigational view comprised of overlaying information pertaining to the one or more identified objects and the location on the live view.

A system comprising:
- a mobile device application stored in a non-transitory computer readable medium, said mobile device application enabled to acquire a live view comprised of one or more images acquired in real time or near real time by at least one camera utilized by the mobile device application;
- a module configured to identify an object within the one or more images as associated with a location;
- wherein the one or more images are captured by the mobile device application to further create a refined location of the mobile device application based on (1) a GPS reading and (2) an object in the one or more images correlated with an associated previously known object;
- and
- the mobile device application configured to display an augmented navigational view based on the refined location and comprised of overlaying information pertaining to the location.
