The invention provides compositions comprising bacterial strains for treating and preventing central nervous system disorders and conditions.

A method of treating repetitive, stereotyped, compulsive, or anxious behavior caused by a neurodevelopmental disorder or a neuropsychiatric condition in a subject in need thereof, comprising administering to said subject a pharmaceutical composition that comprises a therapeutically effective amount of a bacteria strain of the genus Blautia comprising a 16S rRNA gene sequence of SEQ ID NO:2 or SEQ ID NO:4, wherein said administering is effective to treat said behavior in said subject.
A method of treating behaviors in a subject suffering from a neurocognitive disorder, comprising administering to said subject a pharmaceutical composition that comprises a therapeutically effective amount of a bacteria strain of the genus Blautia comprising a 16S rRNA gene sequence of SEQ ID NO:2 or SEQ ID NO:4, wherein said administering is effective to treat said behaviors in said subject.
