Endoscopic surgical clip applier and handle assemblies for use therewith

A handle assembly for use with a surgical instrument, the handle assembly comprising:

• a housing;
• a movable handle pivotably mounted to the housing;
• a plunger disposed at least partially within the housing, wherein distal translation of the plunger relative to the housing is configured to affect a function of the surgical instrument;
• and
• a linkage disposed at least partially within the housing, a first portion of the linkage being pivotable about the movable handle, a second portion of the linkage being slidable relative to a first plunger pin of the plunger, and a third portion of the linkage including a stepped portion configured to selectively engage a second plunger pin of the plunger.

A handle assembly for use with a surgical instrument, the handle assembly comprising:

• a housing;
• a movable handle pivotably mounted to the housing;
• a plunger disposed at least partially within the housing, wherein distal translation of the plunger relative to the housing is configured to affect a function of the surgical instrument;
• and
• a linkage disposed at least partially within the housing, a first portion of the linkage being pivotable about the movable handle, a second portion of the linkage being slidable relative to the plunger, and a third portion of the linkage being pivotable about the movable handle and including a stepped portion configured to selectively engage a stepped portion of the plunger, wherein an entirety of the linkage is pivotable about a pivot pin of the movable handle.

A handle assembly for use with a surgical instrument, the handle assembly comprising:

• a housing;
• a movable handle pivotably mounted to the housing;
• a plunger disposed at least partially within the housing, wherein distal translation of the plunger relative to the housing is configured to affect a function of the surgical instrument;
• and
• a linkage disposed at least partially within the housing, a first portion of the linkage being pivotable about the movable handle, a second portion of the linkage being slidable relative to the plunger, and a third portion of the linkage being pivotable about the movable handle and including a stepped portion configured to selectively engage the plunger, wherein an entirety of the linkage is pivotable about a pivot pin of the movable handle, wherein the second portion of the linkage includes a slot that is slidable relative to a first plunger pin of the plunger, wherein an initial actuation of the movable handle causes the first plunger pin to slide within the slot of the linkage from a first position to a second position, and wherein the initial actuation of the movable handle causes a step of the stepped portion of the linkage to engage a step of a stepped portion of the plunger.
